Bye 2016!

2016 was a really hard year for me. It was a year of growth and a lot of learning.

It was because it was so hard that I had to stop blogging again; I had to focus on myself. It was a horrible year and I'm so glad that it's over but it was also a year where I was able to learn more about myself, see where my passions, my strengths and priorities were, and to also go out of my comfort zone.

This blog was something where I wanted to have a small voice, to help and to inspire. I had to be reminded that regardless of who was listening or reading what I was writing, I should persevere and continue because that's where my passions lie.

I've also made it my mission this year to continue to let go and to put aside emotions in certain situations. My motto this year is c'est la vie so lets see what this year has in store for me.

So,  here I am. I'm looking at 2017 into the eye and I know it's going to be my year. I have a new job to look forward to (as scary as it is) and a holiday coming up at the end of March!

I hope we can kick ass together.

The Leather Fetish

From L to R: Charisma Leather Jacket by Sheike, Suede Biker Jacket by TopShop, Leather Biker by Witchery, Washed Leather Biker by TopShop, Holland Jacket by Kookai

While I was overseas I had my leather jacket with me everywhere, and I mean everywhere. It was mainly due to it being the only jacket that I had brought along with me and it did cause a problem because it was winter in Hong Kong! Nonetheless, it was my trusty jacket and I honestly loved it to pieces.

I didn't lose it overseas, I lost it when I arrived home!

I'm a little devastated even though it was months ago but I've been on the hunt for a new jacket ever since.

Here are my top 5 pieces right now.

My ultimate pick from the 5 is definitely the Charisma Leather Jacket from Sheike because of the texture of the leather, the gold and the belt along the bottom. I'm a gold lover compared to silver because it adds a little something against the black. The runner up is the Suede Biker Jacket from TopShop. I actually tried the jacket on and I fell in love with the texture. I hadn't ever liked a suede jacket before but the biker look fuels the tomboy inside me.

And it's not a coincidence that all the jackets I have picked have the biker look. Each one has something that I like: the zips everywhere especially on the sleeves, the buttons, the texture, and the quilt pattern on the sleeves. The one that isn't like the rest is the Kookai jacket and the reason is because of the draping. It has the futuristic 'Ghost in the Shell' vibe closed and when it's opened, it drapes across giving an effortless effort. I like biker jackets because when it comes to styling, it can be casual or dressed up. I think it adds that little touch of chic to any outfit. I loved wearing it to uni in the early mornings with a heavy scarf and it would be perfect in winter. I loved pairing my jacket with skirts and dresses to tone down my outfit and to give it a chic look.

Hopefully I'll be able to show you ways I style a biker jacket and hopefully add more to my leather collection!

Stay beautiful.

When I was little, I used to get VERY excited for my birthday. I used to bother my mum days in advance and I remember tugging at her or screaming at the top of my lungs, 'MY BIRTHDAY IS IN 4 DAYS!'.

This year is really special to me because it's a year where a lot of transitions will start to happen and I couldn't have asked for more than the love I've received this year, which is where this post comes in.

My best friend planned a surprise picnic.

I died inside.

There aren't a lot of pictures but it was a day to be remembered. The balloons and the cake! How beautiful is the cake? It was a vanilla and strawberry cream cake. If only my mouth and stomach were bigger!

It was quite funny as well because I had broken something in the bathroom and I had went to Bunnings and they had sausage sizzle! I was so hungry but I wasn't allowed one. I'm glad that there was cake, that definitely filled me up!

This year I was definitely spoilt: I had great company, great food and lots of laughs.
For more birthdays to come and to spend it with those you love.
